When you arrive at our beautiful River Edge Venue you will see our 1880's cozy bed & breakfast farmhouse with an old fashioned garage, an old fashioned wishing well, along with our quaint Cedar lined bridal dressing building complete with two restrooms. Our dressing building is ideal for bridal preparation. Our setting is a totally unique tapestry of woods, water, wildflowers and open prairie grass, all of which your guests will view from our ceremony and reception area. We also have a beautiful old 1917 barn with silo and an old outbuilding to add to your variety of wedding photos. Another option we have with our bed & breakfast, is our ability to provide a private, romantic setting for the newlyweds to spend their wedding night.
Our focus was to preserve not only the natural and historical setting, but to create a non-commercial, scenic venue which cannot be emulated elsewhere. The photos and comments we have received by couples and wedding guests have been inspiring. We would like to personally thank all of the past couples who have shown their appreciation for our beautiful property, and the dedication put forth by our staff to make these events possible.
Our 40' x 100' Pavilion
One of the first things that brides and wedding planners alike have noticed when entering our pavilion for the first time is the neutral, clean white interior, which will accommodate any type of wedding theme or decor from rustic to contemporary. The front and sides have cathedral style windows for an elegant view of the river and plenty of light. The pavilion is complete with twinkle lights, a variety of lights and ceiling fans, all on dimmer switches. Finished walnut centerpieces, cedar service bar, antique gift wagon, ceremony arbors, and signage are all included in our ceremony/reception packages.
Many brides planning a wedding would love to have it outdoors but are sometimes apprehensive about the possibility of inclement weather, even if those chances are small.
At River Edge Gathering Place, you get the best of both worlds--a beautiful outdoor pavilion with an incredible wide open view of the Flat River and scenic backdrop, along with commercial duty roll down tent curtains for various weather conditions. Your guests will love the open sides option along with ceiling fans for complete ventilation and spectacular scenery on the warmer days. Another big advantage our pavilion offers is a single, large 40' x 100' area for your ALL of your guests to share their special day with you under one roof. We are confident you and your guests will enjoy our Pavilion!
Our Ceremony Sites
There are 3 scenic locations for brides to hold their ceremonies. The first is a scenic wooded overlook offering an elevated view of the property and river valley. This is where our "woody" arbor is located. The second is a specially graded terrace which includes 2 white arbors and a stone wall with flight of field steps for an elegant bridal entrance into the ceremony area. This is especially a favorite for brides with larger ceremonies, offering a prime view of the river. The third is a level area adjacent to the water, just below the catwalk / river viewing area and may include our white arbor. Our old fashioned wishing well offers yet another unique backdrop for your vows and family photos. All are in close proximity to our beautiful pavilion reception area and our B&B home.
